This survey course is designed to help African leaders clearly understand the unique practice of Abundant Leadership and embody the necessary beliefs, values, and practices required to make the journey from scarcity to abundance in their leadership.

ABCD is a new approach that genuinely empowers citizens and strengthens them as the assets, resources, and strengths of their communities. As a result, community members are identified, connected, and mobilized in order to achieve a shared vision and promote sustainable change.

Abundant Leaders have a heart and motivation to serve their followers. In this second part of Abundant Leadership Foundations will go deeper on making the critical mindset shift from the Quest for Power to a Heart for Service. Leaders will gain a deeper understanding of transformational Servant Leadership and how to put servant leadership into practice as they seek to lead themselves, others, and their organizations. Core concepts include understanding the why behind servant leadership, the difference between leadership and management, how servant leadership works in the African context, developing the personal characteristics of a servant leader, how to build trust and empower others, the RPR formula, and the Diamond Model. Leaders will also complete a 360 degree assessment and develop a Case Study on Servant Leadership for their context.

This course explores the role of influence, and the ability to develop others within the practice of servant leadership. A variety of relational models, such as coaching, mentoring, and spiritual guiding are considered in detail.

This course explores the why and how of team development and introduces conflict management theory and communication strategies. And then participants will be equipped to champion change and empower their teammates.

This course guides participants through a practical approach to developing and enhancing the skills necessary for leading the survival and growth of their organizations, even in turbulent times.

This course introduces basic principles for leaders related to governance, financial stewardship, and human resources. Participants will be able to implement these best practices in the context of their organizations so that they can thrive in the midst of challenges and change.

Conflict resolution and reconciliation are essential skill sets for a leader working in the African context. Leadership in Reconciliation helps leaders to develop the skills, practices, and behaviors needed to build lasting peace and reconciliation in their communities, organizations, and countries using a biblically based restorative justice approach.

Devotional Series
One of the essential lessons for any Christian leader is to know what to do during life's storms. The Bible teaches that we are to put our focus on Jesus and keep our eyes on Him, no matter what we may go through. We must depend on Him for everything, and this is why each of our instructional days will include a devotional concerning relevant African concerns. These inspiring devotionals have been woven explicitly into our curriculum with purpose and intentionality. They will serve as a guiding light throughout the entire program.
