Meet Phocas
ALI Facilitator and Kurumbuka Co-Founder
“Growing up as a refugee and losing family members in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, I have experienced what toxic leaders are capable of – violence, corruption, and exploitation. But I have also experienced what visionary Christ-centered leaders can do – promoting reconciliation, creating economic opportunities, and serving marginalized communities.”
Beyond the Courses
Mentorship Program
Our Mentorship Program connects ALI participants with mentors who share specialized knowledge and relevant life experiences. These external mentors will be drawn from a wider network of gifted business managers, educational leaders, government officials, and other professionals.
Leadership Library
ALI participants and alumni receive access to our physical leadership library which includes select resources from some of the best leadership thinkers in the world.
Current students also receive a year-long subscription to a digital library with over one million resources.
Educational Pathways
Through our partnership with Trinity Western University, we are able to offer graduate-level certification for the ALI program. Leaders who graduate from the ALI Academic Stream receive a Graduate Certificate in Abundant Leadership and 15 credits toward the TWU Masters in Leadership program.
Abundant Leadership is the act of serving a community by helping create a shared vision and using the gifts and abilities of everyone to accomplish that vision.
For an Abundant Leader, motivation and credibility do not come from a title or position, but from a deep love and passion for their community and a desire to see positive change that will benefit all members.
